REALIST PAINTINGS

There were two distinct periods of realism that led to my full attention on abstract art. The earlier period was almost photorealistic with the most attention spent on details and precision of brushwork. The sunlight was always interesting but hadn’t yet called out to me the way that it later did. These larger canvases sought to display sunlight in all it’s drama with looser brushstrokes whose fractured appearance was meant to mimic sunlight glinting off of surfaces.
